Allen Johnson is the head of operations at Prehistoric Earth and the series protagonist. An Irish zoologist, researcher, naturalist, and adventurer, he is in charge of operations going back in time to rescue prehistoric animals. Alongside Jo, Allen is the co-creator of Prehistoric Earth and is very knowledgeable about animals, both in the past and present.
Biography[]
Little is known about Allen's life prior to Prehistoric Earth. However, what is known is he was born in Ireland and according to him, has only one living relative: his daughter Crystal. Despite this, Joanna Bakker is his surrogate mother. His wife, Olivia, had died three years prior to the series debut.

Allen Johnson is a Caucasian man somewhere between his 30's and 40's standing 6'3" with brown hair and blue eyes. His attire is essentially the same throughout much of the series - suitable to a safari, adventurous, and outdoor styles. However, when he travels through wintery landscapes (for example, the Ice Age when he goes to rescue the Woolly Mammoth from extinction), Allen wears a winter attire: heavy coat, gloves, snow cap, scarf, snow pants, and boots.
