Citipati ( name meaning: Funeral Pyre Lord) is a species of Mongolian oviraptosaur. It was similar to the type species Oviraptor, and was confused with it initially. It was about 2 meters long, and thus smaller than both Chirostenotes and Gigantoraptor. However, just like them, Citipati had a crest on its head and a practically toothless beak.
In the episode, "The Giant Claw”, a group of Citipati, were rescued from Late Cretaceous Mongolia, 80 million years ago.
