Crassigyrinus (name meaning "Thick Tadpole") is a genus of carnivorous stem tetrapod that originated during the Early Carboniferous Era in what is now North America and Scotland. Measuring 2 meters long, this Carboniferous "swamp monster" possessed tiny limbs and unusually large jaws.
In the Series 1 episode "Arthropods of the Swamp" a few Crassigrinus were brought to the park from Late Carboniferous Scotland, 300 million years ago. They reside in a water area of the Bug Dome Enclosure.
