Dilophosaurus (name meaning "Two-Crested Lizard") is a genus of dilophosaurid theropod dinosaur that originated during the Early Jurassic period in what is now North America. A ferocious dinosaur measuring seven meters long and weighing 400 kilos, Dilophosaurus is one of the earliest theropod dinosaurs, recognized by the two crests on its head.
In the Series 2 episode "Killers of the Rainforest", a family of Dilophosaurus were brought to the park from Early Jurassic North America, 200 million years ago.
