Prehistoric Earth: A Natural History Wiki
Advertisement

This series follows a team of zoologists that travel through a time portal to various geological time periods and bring live specimens of extinct animals back to the present day, where they are exhibited in a wildlife park named Prehistoric Earth.

Premise[]

Rebecca Slatters, a talented veterinarian, is wrongly blamed for the death of a family pet belonging to a wealthy patient and forced to resign. Out of a job for months, she is then recruited by Allen Johnson, a well-known zoologist and animal wrangler, and hired to work at Prehistoric Earth, a wildlife park created for various animals, including prehistoric animals. When finally shown the reality of Prehistoric Earth, Rebecca joins Allen and a team of adventurous zoologists on missions to find and collect extinct animals from the distant primeval past by use of a time portal.

Characters[]

Main Characters[]

  • Allen Johnson: An Irish zoologist, researcher, naturalist, and adventurer. He is in charge of operations going back in time to rescue prehistoric animals. Alongside Jo, he is the co-creator of Prehistoric Earth and is very knowledgeable about animals, both in the past and present.
  • Rebecca Slatters: A formerly successful Los Angeles veterinarian who is fired from her job after a wealthy benefactor's pet dies in her care. Out of a job and no other place willing to hire her, she accepts an offer from Allen Johnson and Joanna Bakker at Prehistoric Earth.
  • Crystal "Chrissie" Johnson: Allen's well-behaved teenage daughter. At first too young to accompany them on missions, she has managed to sneak onto the team's vehicles from time to time.
  • Shaun Wells: Allen's long-time best friend and is in charge of the research of Prehistoric Earth.
  • Samantha "Sam" Wilson (recurring Series 3; regular in Series 4): An American archaeologist who studies the cultures of prehistoric humans especially when they started to live in the park.

  • Rachel MacLeod: The park's tough, Scottish warden.
  • Joanna "Jo" Bakker: The eccentric, enigmatic founder and CEO of Prehistoric Earth. Allen's boss, she is also his godmother.

Supporting Characters[]

  • Ruby Van Pelt: A talented hunter whose methods put her at odds with Allen.
  • Edward Quartermain: An elderly naturalist who is the grandfather to Allen's daughter Crystal.
  • Johnathan Winston: An American genetic zoologist and head of a company known as PaleoSyn. He is also an old friend turned rival of Allen's.
