Jaekelopterus (name meaning "Jeakel's Wing") is a genus of large, predatory eurypterid that originated during the Early Silurian era in what is now Europe. The largest sea-scorpion ever discovered, Jaekelopterus is also the largest arthropod of all time.
In the Series 1 episode, Dangerous Seas, five Jaekelopterus and their young were brought to the park from Late Silurian United Kingdom, 420 million years ago. They reside in the Primeval Aquarium Enclosure.
