Joanna "Jo" Bakker is the founder and CEO of Prehistoric Earth. She is Allen Johnson's boss and surrogate mother.
Biography[]
Barely anything is known about Joanna's life prior to Prehistoric Earth. However, she has known Allen since he was a boy. She took him in and together they founded Prehistoric Earth. At one point, she was married to a currently unnamed man, who had died prior to the series.
Personality[]
Joanna is a tough, wise, civil, well-educated, and charismatic woman. She is not afraid to defend Prehistoric Earth from anyone, even greedy and bloodthirsty politicians. With that, she also has an indifferent attitude towards politics. She commented she was happy with her husband. However, since his death, she cannot bring herself to take off her ring.
Physical Appearance[]
Joanna Bakker is a Caucasian woman in her early to mid 50's, standing 5'10", with brown eyes and black hair. Crystal Johnson once described her wardrobe as "snappy and classy" as well as "semi-masculine, but spruce". As such, her primary outfit consisted of long jackets/coats of different lengths, various denim pants or shorts, belts (some with differently designed buckles), plain logo-less shirts underneath buttoned (sometimes plad) shirts, and cowgirl boots along with a white cowgirl hat. She also wears a platinum ring that her husband gave her.

Allen Johnson[]
Joanna has a mother-son relationship with Allen. She has taken care of him since he was young and loves him like a real son. While they may disagree on the care and management of the park as well as the animals, in the end, they always find a way to work together.
Crystal Johnson[]
Joanna loves Crystal very much and often looks after her while Allen is away. Crystal often calls her Joanie and also commented when she was a child, she use to call her "Grandma Joanie".
