Megacerops (name meaning "Large-Horned Face") Sometimes called Brontotherium (name meaning "Thunder Beast") is a genus of the prehistoric odd-toed ungulate (hoofed mammal) family Brontotheriidae, a group of rhinoceros-like browsers related to horses. It was endemic to North America during the Late Eocene from 38 to 33 million years ago.
In the Series 4 episode, New Arrivals, a small herd of Megacerops were brought to the park from Late Eocene North America 35 million years ago. They reside in the Giraffe Grasslands Enclosure.
