Metriorhynchus (name meaning "Moderate Snout") is a genus of marine crocodyliform that originated during the Late Jurassic period in what is now South America and Europe. Measuring 3 meters long and weighing over 220 kg, this crocodilian reptile was completely suited for aquatic life.

In the episode, "Cruels Seas," a pair of Metriorhynchus were brought to the park from Late Jurassic Europe, 149 million years ago. They reside in the Primeval Aquarium Enclosure.
