Paleo-Indians, Paleoindians or Paleo-Americans sometimes referred to as the Clovis People are the first peoples who entered, and subsequently inhabited, the Americas during the final glacial episodes of the late Pleistocene period. The prefix paleo- comes from the Greek adjective palaios 'old; ancient'. The term Paleo-Indians applies specifically to the lithic period in the Western Hemisphere and is distinct from the term Paleolithic.

In the Series 3 finale "Mammoth's Undertaking Journey", Paleo-Indians are among the Ice Age humans Allen and his group came across. They saw a group of them hunting a Paramylodon that was grazing on leaves. Later a hunting party of them were hunting a herd of Woolly Mammoths and killed one. Unlike their European counterparts the Cro-Magnons which a tribe of them followed Allen through the portal from Siberia 40,000 years ago, the Paleo-Indians did not follow the team through the portal.
