These sea pterosaurs are called Rhamphorhynchus.
— Allen Johnson, about Rhamphorhynchus
in Cruel Seas

Rhamphorhynchus (name meaning "Beak Snout") is a genus of Rhamphorhynchidae pterosaur that originated during the Middle Jurassic period in what is now Europe. With a wingspan of less than 2 meters, Rhamphorynchus was also an iconic, coast-dwelling pterosaur known for its long tail.

In the episode "Cruel Seas," a flock of Rhamphorynchus were brought to the park from Late Jurassic Europe, 149 million years ago. Due to their small size they are one of a few animals allowed to roam freely.
