Thylacoleo (name meaning "Pouch Lion") is a genus of carnivorous marsupials that lived in Australia from the late Pliocene to the late Pleistocene (2 million to 46 thousand years ago). Some of these marsupial lions were the largest mammalian predators in Australia of their time.

In the episode, Dragon of the Outback, a family of Thylacoleo were brought to the park from Late Pleistocene Australia 65,000 years ago.

Thylacoleo lived in Australia during the Early to Late Pleistocene 2 million to 46,000 years ago where it lived alongside other animals such as Diprotodon, Genyornis, and even the giant lizard Megalania.

Physical Attributes[]

Thylacoleo stood 75 cm and weighed 160 kg.

Thylacoleo had powerful premolar teeth that was used to crush bone in one bite. They also had sharp claws that they used to grab prey.
